What It Is...

The Silverdale Friends list is a mailing list (also known as a discussion list or listserve). Messages sent to the Friends list address are automatically distributed without review or delay to all subscribers of the list.

Who May Join...

Membership is open to all members, friends and family of the Silverdale Church and community.

Submit the information requested on this page and in a short time, you'll receive a request to confirm your subscription; you must respond to the confirmation request according to the directions in the message, after which you'll automatically be added to the list as a subscriber.

The Purpose of the List...

The Silverdale Friends list has several purposes. Among them are:

praises and prayer requests -- an extension of the Prayer Chain
announcements and reminders related to church activities or activities of special interest to our church family
spiritual nourishment:
- short notes of encouragement, edification and inspiration
- discussion of spiritual issues
- questions about the Bible and how it applies to our lives
other items and discussions of interest to our church family

A Few Technical Details and General Guidelines...

To send e-mail to the Friends list, address it to:

friends@silverdalechurch.org

Messages should be written in Christ-like respect and love, as to fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

Please sign your posts, or make sure your full name appears in the signature of your message. It's also a good idea to include your e-mail address in your signature.

Messages must be in plain text -- no HTML formatting. Set plain text in your e-mail settings. Contact Bob Bergey -- rb@dprint.com or 215-723-0777 -- or click here if you need help. This helps assure that messages will be readable by everyone and will download quickly, even over slower Internet connections.

No attachments (photographs, files, etc.) should be sent to the list. Messages with attachments will be blocked by the list server software automatically. This helps assure that computer viruses will not be distributed through the list.

Only subscribers may post to the list; posts must originate from the address from which you are subscribed. This prevents spam (unsolicited commercial e-mail) from being sent to the list.

Use clear, concise subject headings.

As a general rule, the following should NOT be sent to the list: jokes, virus warnings, chain e-mail letters, commercial messages, or classified ads.

Trim your replies: when replying to a message, include just enough of the previous message so we have some context for your reply.

Don't post someone's private message to the list without their permission.

New subscribers -- you are encouraged to introduce yourself to the list.

If you were switched to Digest mode involuntarily, your mail was bouncing. Go to
